DS650 Baja X OR YFZ450LES? I was first gonna get a X but so much is being said about the 450 so i don't know which 1 any more. Please help me deside!

the 650 i belive would be a better idea for racing. if you not in to that get the 450

u might not have noticed the 500lb dry wieght of the ds and the 350lb 450 and maybe the fact that the 450 is made for racing

i am getting a ds at christmas because i have been researching the ds for some time against all the other brands of sport quad and the ds shone above the rest yfz is good bike but very high maintenance machine can get expensive very quickly thats why i have decided ds plus out of the box its got every thing you need

You will rebuilt 3 motors before you rebuilt the ds motor we are seeing a lot of blown crank bearings these days!the YFz nedds a lot of maintenance!

first of all.... big fella.... if i were you.... i wouldnt even think about getting a ds because it weighs 500lbs and with you on it it might fall apart knowing the fact that ur a "big fella" AND you say the ds has everything you need? PFFT! You dont know quads good do u.... the ds is the slowest, no torque machine out there and also to mention.... the heaviest plus it has no reverse! So if i were you.... i would feel bad cuz u would have to pull the darn thing everywhere you go so u will be spending more time pulling than riding.... if u want a really fast, torquey, and more reliable machine then get the yfz450 or the raptor 660R trust me you will be the happiest man on earth. (Oh yeah i have a quadsport Z400 and all it has is a yoshimura pipe on it and i beat a ds650 by 2 bike lengths in a drag :/.... tell me they don't suck)

uh ya nothing beats a YFZ except maybe on top end the bigger quads can, I have the valve lash set every 6 months depending on how much I ride, ya true the motor is hi-po so if you ride it hard you will be looking at rebuilds more often. Its light the450 YFZ and I have no complaints yet in the year and a half I have had it, other than dont boost the battery if it is dead they are a 270 canadain buck touch.

Well this depends on the height and weight of the driver...This is a powerful bike and someone who is light will get shot off in a sec...-John www.the52cards.com

Well i know what i prefer, im gonna get the DSX. I don't know how u can say a DSX sucks! THey r fast, they r torquey no doubt, i mean look at it, its got a friggin 653cc Rotax engine in it, i tested the 450 and i was dissapointed. Sure its fast, though i didn't really like its handling. I also know that stock alot of ppl have been having trouble with front A-arms breaking because their really weak. ALSO the DSX comes with EVERYTHING u need on it and its not more expensive, so that saves u 1800 that u can spend on other stuff, like pipes or some ROn Woods upgrades. Now tell me Dan what time difference is there with a distance of 2 lengths in a drag race? VERY LITTLE. Also u cant decide just by 1 race, get that Z400 with its ipe and tune it perfectly, get the DSX and tune it perfectly, and then have at least 10 drags together and then lets see who wins. The ds also could have missed a gear, u don't know, so don't go judging the next greatest quad ever. I reckon a DS650X should have no problem taking out next yrs FInke Desert Race next yr.
