i am mostly a trail rider and am looking for a quad to buy. I want a sport quad and thought i should get one with reverse. I looked at the raptor and sate on it . it was comfortable but i thought it sate to high. then i looked at the 400's (kfx,Z). I sate on one and i really didnt like the seat, grips and the way the handlebars were. So i thought i just would look at a regular sport quad that didnt have reverse. I saw the trx 450r. It caught my eye becuase it looks so slick. I sate on it and it felt so much more comfortable and the handlebars were at the right spot for me. So i was wondiring if anyone who owns this quad could tell me if its good even with out reverse or should i get aquad with reverse.
I NEED AS MANY RESPONCES BECUASE MY DAD IS GOING TO BUY IT FOR ME AND HE THINKS I NEED REVERSE SO I NEED TO PROVE HIM WRONG!!!!

alright hers the deal, today i was riding in some woods with my 450r, i got it stuck on a log that was like parallel with my quad, yes reverse would have been nice on the 450r, but, it would also increase the power to weight ratio, so to answer u, reverse is ok , but definently overrated....

i ride trails alot and it is nice to have reverse, but it would not play a large factor in deciding between one quad or the other.

I have a 93'blaster and I always go trail riding at my buddies and I don't have reverse and I think that you shouldn't buy a fourwheeler just because it don't have reverse. The trx 450r is an awsome qaud and I hope your parents get you one.

Reverse is highly overated, A big factor here though is this question. Can you lift the quad and move it by grabbing either the front of rear bumper? If you can then you do not need reverse. If you cannot, or feel you couldnt if you were tired from riding and stuck by yourself, get a machine with reverse. But the way I see it If your stuck your stuck. Reverse or no reverse. BYt eh way i have a 450r and the thing is so much lighter than my 400ex, and it wipps on the trails. BUt be warned this thing is scary fast, it romps on my piped and jetkited 400ex.
