| I just purchased the Arctic Cat 650. This is my first ATV. I very pleased except for the belt engagment. I find that the belt can smoke easily. I notice a squeeling sound once and a while coming from the front of the ATV while under load conditions. When I took it too the dealer, they ended up smoking the belt while load testing it. They put a new belt on it and I smoked the new belt just riding it around. Let me know if you have any ideas on this fix. Thanks.

| I have not had any problems with my belt .Keep it tight and when you are "putting around" or are in deep mud or snow drive it in low gear.My buddy burnt his belt up but he was in deep snow with a low tier.It was pretty well on fire

| What did you expect. Its an Arctic Cat... Of course the belt will burn up, and your ATV will eventually fall a part.

| don't know about this one but my '02 650 prairie fried a belt in 400 miles. time was up on warranty.it made a sqeeling noise when it started moving since it was new. seems some clutches were improperly shimmed at the factory. since this is the same engine and transmission as the prairie, look for similar problems. also my carbs were way out of sync from the beginning. would'nt idle. other, awsome ride.
