| I have absolutly fallen in love with the VTX 1800. Can anyone tell me why i shouldn't get a VTX like problems or maybe a different bike that would better suit a beginner rider?

| you might want to check out the 1300 VTX. Many of the reviews say it is a mucher better ride than the 1800 and it will save you considerable money!

| I don't wanna say don't do it...but I would strongly suggest lowering to a smaller bike for right now, like the 1100 or 1300. The 1800 is large compared to most and don't get me wrong, for a beginner so is the 1100 and the 1300's...not saying you couldn't get used to it...I would hate to see you crash and burn doing just that. If you refuse to go smaller (I started with the Sabre 1100, not the smartest, but it was not half as horrible as everyone would say) then definately take the MSF Riders Course (just do that regardless)! The 1800 is a loooong bike, and the tank is wide. You may be able to ride it in a straight line...but trouble awaits you at Turn 1! Sit on the bike before you buy, and lean it from side to side. That will give you an idea of how you will fair with it for starting out. Godd luck, and RIDE SAFE!!!
