| | At what speed does the bike get so buzy that you coudln't ride it for extended periods of time? I have a 45 mile trek to work, some of it on freeway some of it on dirt. Could I take this bike on the freeway for 15 miles at say 75-80 mph? What kind of gas mileage is everyone getting on the street? How fast will it go with stock gearing? |

| I have a 2001 DRZ400 which I ride to work about 21 miles one way, the handlebar vibration is the worst problem, but wearing gloves helps. I have rode further and the seat vibration bothers me a bit, but nothing to make me stop riding it, lack of windshield is the worst thing I can think of, and I am going to try some barsnake to eliminate some vibration.

| I have had my DRS for a year now and I would say that riding on the freeway is the one limitation to this fantastic machine. Remember, Suzuki designed this bike from the dirt up. Its not really designed to be a freeway cruiser. As for your question about speed. I dropped the gearing on my DRS down to handle hill climbs. Anything over 73 mph feels like the bike is working a bit hard. The bike is a great little "towner," and works wonders in the mountains on both pavement and dirt. The highway is another story.

| Yes, i would agree that on long rides it does get a tad uncomfortable. As for the top speed, i mostly ride mine offroad and put on some DOT knobbies. I have had it up to about 94 on the speedo and the fron tend get really loose and it feels like the bike wants to launch in the air.

| I commute about 27 miles each way. I take the freeway when I'm running late. This bike cruises at 65-70 without any problems however, it is a dirt bike by design.
For example, my street bike when you let off the gas doesn't immediatly drop in speed.
The compression on the DRZ is so great when you get up to 70mph just ease of the throttle and you'll seet he bike drop 20 mph easily, quickly.
This bike is not intended for long freeway rides. However, back wine country beat up roads, this bike rocks. Dirt roads, with the legallity of riding street this bike rocks.

| | 82mph it gets a little bumpy, It will just do 100 if the wind is with you, I'm getting 51 mpg |

| It tops out at 95mph with the stock gears.
I get 48-50mpg mixed riding.
I ride on the street hard for hours.
