I'm considering getting the raptor 50 for my son. I've noticed it is a lot bigger that all the other 50 cc atv's. Would this be confortable for a kid 45 inches tall?

You would be making a big mistake buying a raptor 50. Although they are bigger than most 50cc 4 wheelers out there, they are also the slowest. They have a rev limiter in the CDI box that Yamaha will not explain how to change. Your childs skill level would surpass the performance of this machine in a week. My son is not real happy with his.

brother you would be better off buying a e-ton,articat,suzuki 50 or the sportman 90 that polaris makes. the yamaha 50 sucks big time because of the speed issue. it will only due about 12mph. my 3yr old son out grew yamaha 50's speed the first day he had it. he is now riding his sister sportman 90 which turned out to be a rally neat bike and fast. so if you hear anything out how to get more speed please let me know or ill just have to buy a new for him for xmas.

All of this is not true!!! Big gun sells a rev box & exhaust. start him out stock, then put these two items on the bike, VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!! It will blow away all the others, plus its bigger & safe!!! we have taken ours on long mountain trips & it stays right with us. My son loves it, he`s been riding since 3 years old. Call bobby J`s in albq nm, they will tell you how to remove the gov.
