Looking at Yamaha 1100Vstar Custom but worry about being bored after years out of riding. Now down to sport tourers BMW R1150RT and Honda 1300ST, both with ABS. Which is going to be more fun in the corners? Power? Pure gut fun?

I think it's obvious the Honda has more power, and probably handles better.
If you looking for fun in the corners, maybe you should consider a racing bike.
The RT's repuation speaks for itself. There's a reason Honda copied it.
And BMW's brakes are far superior to anything else out there, so "both with ABS" doesn't really mean much.

You wrote this question a year ago and you've already bought a bike - but anywho - the Vstar is fine once you get into the corner, but getting in is a little weird. The longer wheelbase makes it a bit tricky. In other words, the Vstar is not as responsive. But, I own a Vstar, and I will never be bored with it. Anything that can kill you is not boring.
