| The Raptor 80 was designed as a powersports bike first, then scaled down to fit in a child hand. This level of reverse engineering allows Yamaha to produce a much more dependable 80cc engine that will grow with you needs. I use my Raptor 80 in extreme sports competition. If you remove the scaled changes that the Yamaha engineers added, what is left is very lethal quad in terms of performance. The Raptor 80, in fact, has a sub-sonic top speed of 154 Mph. But, you must you remove the modifications that Yamaha installed to slow it down. Namingly, the spark plug supressor, engine RPM collector, and then have a machine shop over-bore the Tachion path in the exhaust system.
