| I have a 2002 Grizzly, and a friend who bought a 2003.I recently broke my left rear axle doing a soft landing off the top of a hill. My partner, who's Grizzly is still under warranty has broken both axlea, and both CV joints. I think there is a problem in the quality of steel in these parts and think that YAMAHA should RECALL ALL AXLES on these machines. Riding the machine after the axle is broken is very dangerous.ANY OTHERS HAVE THIS PROBLEM???

| yes i went off a 1 foot tall jump at only about 30mph and landed and then i stoped but after i stoped we were leaving and are truck was 1 mile away so i put it in gear and pressed the throttle and it didnt move but it said i was going 40mph so i turned it off and went to the back cv joints and wigled them around they were totally off all that was keeping them on was the covers so i had to put it in 4wd to even get back but i had to winch up a hill that a car can get up and down

| I broke both my front axles about 3 month's ago. I was in mud and water over my 27" tires. It was in low range and diff lock. One tire must have caught a rut or rock and snapped one axle. Not much later the other one went too. My warrenty was 6 months but the bike was 7. Believe it or not they still granted me the warranty. Each axle cost $240!!!!! And I apparently I got an updated axle due to other complaints. The axles are so damn weak compared to Polaris (my previous ATV). You'd think Yamaha would do a bit better on their quality.

| This is a common problem with the 2003 model. Just about every 2003 model I know of has had to go back to the local
Yamaha shop and get the replacements installed. Yamaha has roconised this as a manufacturing problem and has anyway here in Alberta honored all cost for replacements. |

So just the 2003 models....?? Just my luck becuase I had found a good deal on a used bike with 1k miles for 3500.
Has anybody been smart enough to cross reference the cv axles size to find out which car axle will fit? Looks just like what I had to put on my VW last month 80.00 each and they hold 350ft/lbs of diesel torque! |
