The completely stock KFX 700 will outrun any stock Raptor period. I ride with two Raptor owners regularly one stock ,and one with some after market items. Even with a Yoshi pipe,re jetted carbs and K AND N filter its a toss up on flat ground and a runaway for the KFX on hill climbs like long steep dunes. We alternate between the beach and the woods when we ride. On the beach the Raptor does great but in the hills the low ground clearance and gearing cause some problems. We spend a lot of time going back to help the Raptors over obstacles the rest of us cleared with no problem. In terms of dependabilty the jury is still out on the KFX, however the early raptors had some tranny problems and even the later Raptors seem to have the air intake duct keep popping off the carbs obviously not good.Maybe our group is an exception instead of the rule but on any outing where breakdowns occure its most likely to be the Raptor that gets towed back to the pickup.

I just returned from a desert race. Two V-force Kawasakis raced in the group. Both were slugs. I was on a 400EX. The race was super dusty and left virtually nowhere to pass. On the first loop, I passed the first V-force after riding his ass for a couple of miles. Later, a Raptor was ahead of me and a V-force was ahead of the Raptor holding us both back. Luckily, he decided to pit so we could get by that big piece of crap. They both came in at the tail end of the pack.

The V-force must be good of the line. Keeping this heavy machine on the trail must take more work than its Raptor counterpart. After this race, I would vote Raptor of the two.

I felt really bad for my buddy on his modded up raptor. He's spent a ton of money on mods and his airbox lid is drilled to tatters. I came home with my new Vforce and he wanted to drag race and I though he would blow me away. WRONG. We raced 3 times and he just compained about all the dirt in his face. He had no chance. Now his Raptor is up for sale.

Let me start by saying that I own a raptor. I tired to look at this question in a slightly different way. So went to www.hmfengineering.com and had a look at the standard dino outputs of the KFX700, Raptor and the DS650. I used this website to get some sort of fair representation, and I am not saying it as 100% correct. Let’s just assume it is more or less fair. Out of all three the KFX700 has the lowest power output on the dino with 30.9 HP, the Raptor, 36HP (it’s a bit unclear) and the DS650 40HP. Just looking at the dino results one would say the KFX has no chance, but then I looked a bit further and the KFX makes 30.9 HP at about 2400 RPM and it tapers of slowly to 25HP at 6000RPM. The raptor does max power at about 5800 and the DS650 at about 6500. What this tells me is that the KFX has a very flat power curve and because it kicks in at low RPM ranges it will pull much stronger than the raptor or DS650 that makes much lower power at the 2500RPM range. Add an automatic to the mix and it speeds things up even more. I have never raced against a KFX700, but the power output seems to indicate it will accelerate very well. Its only downfall is its weight. It is very heavy and will tire a rider much more then the raptor or DS650 when doing trials and MX circuits. I would also like to remind people not to judge the ATV’s based on top speed. A change in sprockets can give the raptor and DS650 a much higher top speed than the KFX700.

Most defenitly the KFX700!
and if you do have the overheating problems go to www.highlifter.com they make heat fighter kits for liquid cooled 4 strokes, and its not badly priced.
i've heard that the KFX has a faster top speed than the Raptor, and the KFX would probably get it off the line quicker but the Raptor would most likely would win the race.
