i'm deciding between the 700 v force and the 660 raptor. i was woundering off the line which one is faster off the line, due to the fact the 700 v force is automatic. which is the better brand to buy a kawasaki or yamaha

It all depends on what you want. Do you want an automatic or a manual. I am currently working at an atv dealership that sells both kawasaki and yamaha. So I have driven both models. All I have to say is the Kawasaki takes the cake! I dont favor either model, so I am giving you my honest opinion. You have to get used to the automatic because when you want to kick the rearend out on a manual you just tack it up and let the clutch fly. But on the kawasaki you just mash the gas! Actually you dont have to "mash" the gas because it has plenty of power to spare. You just crack the throttle a little and it comes whipping out. My overall honest opinion is that the Kawasaki would take the raptor right off of the line all the way up to 70mph. If you have any more questions about the two, just post them. Because I can tell you anything about the two.

The V-force smokes the raptor hands down .. Invest $200.00 in a h.p. clutch kit and in a 1/8 drag you will smoke even a beefed up raptor at least 3 bike lengths. But I hear Honda is gearing up with a mid 2004 750 v-twin l.c. And everyone knows Honda's reputation.

I've had my Raptor for 7 months and love it. We just brought home a new 700. Honestly I only have less than an hour on it. If you want a raptor I'll sell you mine. Can't wait to get it in the sand. Then on to Utah trails!!! Good luck with your shopping.

Yamaha is way better, the raptor and v-force tie, and kawasaki last about a year maybe less before the break down, and the v force is an automatic, who wants and automatic!? RAPTOR!

Update..just got back from Glamis. Saturday sand drags..V-Force can stay with stock Banshees beat stock Predators and Raptors. But my modified Rpator beat it by one length. We used four different riders on 12 different runs. I would venture to say it has alot of potential. In the dunes it is real cush and pleanty of power. This is my wifes bike she loves it very easy to ride. Happy Trails
