| | How old do you have to be to ride this model on the trails? I want to buy a wheeler for my kids to ride on the trails. But I don't know any regulations. |

| | Recommended age by Yamaha for this ATV is 12 and up. State Law varies. Wisconsin law says no one under 12 may operate an ATV unless he or she is operating the a small atv (small is less than 90 cc and the Raptor qualifies) on a designated trail and accompanied by his or her PARENT. They are very specific about parent. I took my 10 year old daughter riding on the Tri-County ATV trail which starts in Mineral Point without any problems. Some trails are off limits to kids, but most just follow the standard ATV regulations. |

| depending on where you live it doesn't matter the regulations but if it does he or she would have to ride anything under a 90cc untill they would turn 16

| i dont think you really need age to ride ATVs, mostly experiance and training. I am 13 and I have a honda sporttrax 250EX, I know how to ride it(even though it's my first and I have no trouble. If you decide to buy one over 100cc, make sure it'slegal for your kid to ride it first!!!!! Then teach him/her how to ride it and he?she will be fine.

| I agree with cris (above) basically a 90cc quad says you should be 12 to ride it but your kids will be too bored they get tired of the slowness and want to move up in 1 month or2, so i would suggest getting a blaster as there first quad, because its pretty meallow. i no cause i raced 1 at 5yrs. but now im twelve and im riding a banshee so thats how quickly you get bored with quad's power

| On the trails?! You're kidding right?
The Raptor 80 would get lost in any ruts that the rain has made. It's suspension is short and stiff. So much that your child will have a tire in the air at any ravine. Can you see that there will be a reduction of control? When their tires are planted, they will have a ground clearance problem. Find a fallen branch, and your todler will be calling AAA for assistance lifting the bike over what appears to them as a massive tree trunk.
Consider a larger bike with appropriate suspension. Or ride on smoother ground/sand.
The Raptor 80 is a great introduction to quads. But, choice of terra firma will need serious consideration when you take the quad out of the garage. You will want to think of "smooth" when you see how this little guy asorbs the bumps with a <100 LB child on it's back. (Err, doesn't asorb.)

| My 7 year old rides a 90 so as long as there are no state laws restricting the age it is more about experience & size.

| I bought one for my 5 year old. She has a hard time shifting it but I just put it in second gear and it has enough low and high end to taker her anywhere at a resonable rate of speed for her age. The age requirements are primarily dealer laws for selling the atv. Check your stste regulations for riding on public lands. Oregon states a licenced adult must supervise the rider.
