| I really like the VULCAN 2000 CLASSIC and want to buy one. However, every time I sit on one in the showroom and get it upright off the kick stand, although nothing bothers me at the time, a few hours later I start feeling minor lower back pain. I am wondering if there might be an aftermarket
frame-like kickstand similar to the ones on some of the scooters, which supports the bike on either side, letting it lean only a little bit on the support side. This would lessen the effort required to rock the bike to the vertical position for riding. I really want to buy this bike, but if I keep getting a pain hours later, I will have to think twice. If anyone has any ideas, suggestions or comments, I would appreciate them. Thanks in advance. |

| Sounds like the bike has to much weight for you. Its dry weight is over 700 lbs. You would never get this bike up on a scooter style kickstand, again to much weight to lift the back wheel off the ground. My advice, bye a scooter. Several of the riders in my club own them and they are fast but much lighter.

| | I OWN A 04' VN2000 WHICH HAS THE SHORTER SIDE STAND AND IT LEANS OVER FURTHER THAN 05'S AND UP WHICH HAVE A LONGER SIDE STAND BUT STILL MOUNTS THE SAME. YOU GET USED TO IT AND LEARN TO JUST KINDA USE YOUR WHOLE BODY TO JUST SNAP IT UP. MAKES IT EASYER IF YOU STRAIGHTEN THE FRONT WHEEL BEFORE YOU SNAP IT UP OFF THE SIDE STAND, LIKE I SAID YOU JUST GET USED TO IT. THE SCOOTER IS DEFINATLY WORTH IT. RON H. |
