2004 Kawasaki Vulcan® 2000 Expand / Collapse

I just installed the Cobra Speedster Shorts on my Vulcan 2000. It runs fine without the Fi2000 and I get very little backfiring on deceleration. Will it hurt it to run it this way or do I need to put on the FI2000 anyway??

I ALSO OWN A VN2000, I INSTALLED AN AFTERMAKET AIR BOX AND POWER SHOT EXHAUST, ALONG WITH A POWER COMMANDER THAT I DOWNLOADED A MAP FOR THESE CHANGES FROM THEIR WEB-SITE. IT SEEMED TO RUN GOOD I THOUGHT UNTIL I HAD IT DYNOED AT TUNNING CENTER AND FOUND IT WAS RUNNING WAY LEAN AFTER DIALING IT IN IT RUNS GREAT WITH GOOD GAS MILEAGE. LONG STORY SHORT. WHEN EVER YOU CHANGE THE WAY AN ENGINE BREATHS BE INTAKE OR EXHAUST YOU DON'T REALLY KNOW UNLESS YOU HAVE IT DNO-TUNED. INSTALL THE FUEL COMMANDER. RON H.
