what kind of production problems did the V-Rod have in terms of the frame, motor and radiator?

well people are not saying it at the dealer but I own a 2006 night rod and ended up getting some oil loss. harley says this is common and they have to figure out where its going. it seems to be in the air filter chamber (im not a mechanic). ive been at the dealer alot and talked to other vrod people. now I know there was an issue with overflow tank hose, tail lights comming off with bumps, and the exhaust needs to be tightened often at the manifold. also there are complaints about the clutch but they seem to have fixed that on newer bikes. if youve owned 5 harleys like I have these issues are not that big of a deal. they suck as much as the split in the center of a road king exhaust, having the heel shift come loose, and seal leaks. the vrod is the only harley with a radiator (no overheat in traffic), the only harley that is rubber mounted and balanced engine together (no more shake so less items come loose and seals dont take the beating), it has one oil chamber instead of 3, it is way better designed, and if you can get over the feeling that its not a real harley (you get that from the high rpm ability and thats just a trade off to get the power I guess) then this is just a better machine than the other harleys (better is an opinion when your a harley guy tho). now if harley will make one big cruiser with this engine and maybee a buell type sport bike with this engine while keeping the air cooled engines performance and reliability improving as they have been every year. the company will be as diverse as any other out there. if your a guy who wants a big traditional bike with air cooling or you want that same style but vrod technology or you want an american sport bike or a power cruiser at that point harley would have whatever you want. anyway back to the vrod problems lol. as far as the frame im told it is as strong as one gets. it was molded just for this engine and has only 6 welds. my bike does 130 before rev limiter stops me and it gets there pretty fast and I feel confident that the frame is solid. I dont think as heavy as harleys are that frame problems are as common as they are with other companies who go for lighter bikes each year. I wont go into detail with all that but the other bike companies make the bikes so light that even with all the advanced metal the frames tend to be to weak. hope all this helped, I tend to ramble.
