Had a minor accident recently and was looking for some info that seems rather obsure. Basically, the bike was dumped nose first into a vehicle and it broke the front fork/suspesion mounting cleanly above and below the shaft that it is inserted into (gas tank) as well as the triple clamp (upper and lower w/ shaft). Now it appears that from the breaking points that it is designed to break there (crush zone) as to reduce damage to the bike at slow speeds like I was (5mph). Is this a correct assumption or just wishfull thinking? It makes sence though as it would reduce the numer and cost of repairs as the frame could be bent if this part werent made of a cheaper/softer metal. Also, where can I find these type of replacement parts and perhaphs some cosmetic parts? It all looks like I can repair it and I have all the manuals needed but wasnt finding any stocked websites with these few specific parts. Many thanks fellow riders.

Most any part you need can be found on E-Bay. Good luck.
