| My 86'Hawk 700 will not turn on. It was working fine, then it just died. I turn the key and no lights, no nothing. Any thoughts?

| | There is a issue with the wiring in the start switch. It can easily become corroded and cause a short. Sometimes just wiggling the wire or moving the bike around will correct the issue and you’ll be back on your way. I know this because this is what happened to me and it took me a while to find out what the problem was. Anyway, to keep this from happening again do one of the following. Either replace the throttle switches or take it off and take it apart and clean all the connections (resolder any if necessary) and heat shrink around the connections to prevent future erosion. I did this and have not experienced the issue in the last 2 years. |
