I am looking to buying a bike in spring. It is going to be my first bike and I am a woman 5ft 4in. My husband is buying also a new bike but he wants his Suzuki and I was interested in Sabre. Last time I have ride a bike was in my teens so its a LOOONG time (im in my 40's), im a strong person and normal weight in size...so I thought why not give it a go. Been shoping and Ive been asking tons of questions to everyone that owns a bike and fell for this one so far. So ok here are my questions. On the most important thing is that I want it to be my first and last bike and dont feel like re-saling the bike cause it was too small..so for me it is very important to buy once..im doing this basically for my husband and i am the type that gives a go to anything..im not scare and willing to try anything in life..anyhow, is this bike too fast for a first time bike and for a woman or too fast? will I be able to ride it and be happy with it or just say, nope dont like this bike. Not really sure what to ask as questions cause I never owned one. Maybe the women out there can truly answer me on what they are riding or if your wife/girlfriend has a bike what she thinks of her bike..

Lanny, There are many things a woman could do for her husband. Buying herself a motorcycle just for him is not one of them. My advice, first and foremost: take a Basic Riders Training Course. If you pass and if you enjoyed it, then start thinking about which size bike to buy. Your first bike should be smaller than the bike your think you can handle. If you buy too big you won't learn what you need to learn to keep yourself from getting killed. An 1100 is way out of your league. Even a 750 would be pushing it. Consider the Yamaha 650. It's a great beginner bike.
