| I just bought a 1999 road star1600, 28000 mile. It back fires through the carb. I thought it flooded so i change the needle and seat. The carb was real clean but the it still back fires alot.

| | go to a higher grade of gas i had sam problem that cured it |

| | I have a 99' Road Star too. Mine did the same thing. In my case, it turned out to be the intake manifold cracked and was sucking air. I replaced it with a ported one from Barrons and it has worked great for the past 4 years. Use low octane gas unless you have high compression pistons. |
