Honda Sabre or Yamaha V Star Classic (1100's)
I am having difficulty choosing between these two bikes. I love the styling of both, and they are very similar. The Honda is water cooled, the Yamaha is air cooled--how big a difference will that make to me. I dont ride in traffic very often, but I dont want to have to worry about over heating. Any insite on any issues between these bikes would be helpful.

I have the V Star Classic 1100. I ride in traffic with no problem. During the hot days the bike performs well and there are not overheating issues. Yamaha also has a great accessory dept for their V-Star line. Go with the V Star.

I had the same delima. I choose the Honda mainly because of the location of the oil filter. The Yamaha 1100 V-Star places the oil filter in such a place that you must remove the pipes and rear break just to get to it. The dealer charges 250.00 for the oil change, mainly because of the filter time. You can purchase a remote filter locator for 250.00, price of an oil change. That was the only tuirn off I had with the Yamaha. Other than that, I felt the Yamaha had much better lines and is much reasier to locate custom parts for.

I've ridden both, and the difference to me is like the clerk at the store asking you, Paper or plastic? The Honda is well built, easy to maintain, and has a solid feel. The Yamaha looks nice, but maintenance is a little more difficult and the overall quality seems lower than Honda's standard. The Honda to me is well worth the little extra you pay for added confidence, quality and performance.
