If you don't buy the Vulan 900 you'll regret it. This one awesome bike and I've owned Harleys, Hondas and Bmw"s

I plan to do some real touring with and without a passenger so I would go with the 900 for the increased size and power.

The Vulcan 900's bars are almost vibrationless. Mirrors are perfectly sharp and viewable at ANY speed a after a several hour ride you won't be trying to shake off your throttle wrist tingling sensations.

I went on a 2700 mile ride with a group of quite a variety of motorcycles. Mine was the only 900 LT. There was one C50T on the ride and it didn't seem to have any problems . Just a question of personal preference. I would definitely ride a Suzuki if someone gave it to me,but I'm glad I got the 900 .

The Vulcan 06 900 has a bigger engine, 5 gallon fuel capacity, front and rear disk brakes, belt drive, fuel injection, and a fuel gauge.

The 06 Suzuki, is 805ccs, has a better rear shock, 4.2 gallon fuel tank, fuel injection, front disk and rear drum brakes, shaft drive, and a low fuel indicator light.

Both bikes have plastic fenders and other plastic covers.

My wife bought me a 2007 900 LT. Two weeks ago I bought a 1200 Sportster. There are a few things I don't like about my Kawi experience including the 'out the door' price ($12,000 with all taxes, prep fees, etc.).

My wife wants a bike, she's going with the Sportster 883 ($7,200 base price) because of my 1200. We both regret having wasted money on the Kawi but most of it is due to the dealership (Grand Prix in the Bay Area) and Kawasaki accessories on nationwide backorder (engine guard, seat).

What sucks on my Kawi? Front end oscillation, mediocre seat, whine, backfire, more plastic than advertised, crappy location of oil inspection window (yeah, YOU hold the bike upright and level while looking at the window down by your left foot!), other things.

What I DO like about it: looks, bang for the buck, comfortable ride (after you change the seat or add a pad), low fuel light that DOES work (unlike the gauge), lots of body space even with a passenger. I'll still cruise with it because I don't want to 'castrate' my Harley by adding extra equipment.

If you get a good dealership, the bike will be good. If not, you'll probably have my attitude. ANY bike is only as good as it's set up and taken care of, I don't care what the brand is.

Regards,
Abe.
