OK, Come on Victory owners, if you had to do it all over again would you buy a victory again. IS the service good? Did the fix the 1999 and 2000 tranies. I really could use some confidence building here. The forks felt a litte loose on the test model when hitting bumps. The ride stiff but nimble with lots of power and brake. I want a bike with hard bags so I've narrowed it down to the Valkryie Interstate 2000 model, Kawasaki Nomad 1500 FI or the Victory Tour. You pick! Write back PLEASE. I have a real ich to buy a bike before all the weather is gone.

You bet I would, for a cruiser it is a great all around bike, plenty of power corners like a dream, the aftermarket stuff is coming. The Vegas shifts as good as any others, ok I'm biased but I own one. The loose front end, not mine, the ride is as good as any bike I've owned in the last 30 years. I did have to get use to using the front and back brake to get quick stops but there is not a big patch of rubber on the frontend with the 80/90 21 inch wheel. The service issue is more the dealer than anything else warranty is not an issue for me. Of the three you are looking at the victory tour or the valkryie would be good choices. The trany problem was fixed with the upgrades this year, and pretty much ok in 2002. good luck with whatever you choose. Blue Sky's and dry roads.

I'm buying mine tomorrow; I have 3 Beemers, so I know of good design and engineering for a motorcycle. The Victory engine is top notch design - injected, 4V, OHC, balance-shaft, hydraulic lifters, excellent L and R rotating assemblies balance. Also, top shelf Fox adjustable rear shock, floating discs all around, multi-piston brake calipers, SS braided brake lines, good OEM horns, much easier to access subassemblies like rear swingarm (than HD) and overall heavy-duty construction and excellent finishing. Reads like a Beemer list, but Made in USA! Have you HEARD it?

I have a 2001 V92C Deluxe which is the leather bag cruiser. I love mine. I have had some minor troubles with it but the bike is really nice to ride and while I have not driven the Honda or Kawasaki, I know they are good bikes as well. My tranny by the way is ok (newer style in 01) with nearly 7k miles. The 03 trans is even better. I don't think you would regret getting one especially with the financing and extended warranty offers they have going on.

The other bikes you mentioned are very good motorcycles, but for me, the victory is the only way to go. Its a big bike that is very nimble in the curves and very comfortable. My other bike is a 1980 HD FXEF that I ride when I am feeling rude, crude, and low tech. Wolfman
