Does the valves need adjustment at certain time or the lifters hydraulic which would make valve adjusting maintenance free? Thanks.

Kabul,

The valves are NOT self adjusting. According to the Owner's Manual the valves are to be inspected (checked) for the first time at 15,000 miles.

According to two different Kawasaki dealers, the valves do NOT need to be inspected at 600 miles. I was told by the service dept. that some dealers may want to sell you this service but this service is NOT necessary at 600 miles. Some services are needed at 600 miles (break in period) but NOT the valve inspection.

The book says adjust at 15K, but I had to have mine adjusted at 3K and at 5K it is back in the shop.
