I have a '00 500 and was wondering about the rpm's at highwaty speeds(70-75). At these speeds it seems the rpm is a little high, in the 5500 to 5800 range. The tires are the stock size and I have not changed either of the sprockets. I hadn't really given much thought to this until a friend who has an 800 mentioned this. Also at times it acts like it isn't in 6th gear, but when I try to shift it won't go any higher. Any Ideas?

Rpm range is normal, this bike makes peak power at 8,500 rpm, and red line is in the 10,000 rpm range. I've ridden an '03 for a year now, and have noticed that sometimes mine feels like it's in a lower gear than 6th. Dealer says this is normal, it's just the "buzzy vibrations" of the high revving parallel twin motor.
