| The 620 does not even come close to those bike. Power is way down and the bike is hamstrung with a 5 speed transmission. While I love the Ducati SS bikes they certainly don't offer the performance of the Japanese competition. I was all set to buy a new 1000SS DS when I found a great deal on a '02 Honda VTR1000F leftover for a tiny bit more than a Ducati 620 would cost. The 'SuperHawk' has been a blast and power-wise has it all over the 1000SS. You should check that bike out.

| The ducati has much more torque than the CBR (dont know much about the R6). I compared the 2 before I bought the Ducati. I have not yet ridden the CBR so I cannot compare the power.
Ducks do have more torque so they are great for extra passengers, off the line speed and of course their call to glory, cornering. Ducaiti's engines dont offer the upper end power of the japanese bikes, but the japanese bikes dont come close to sounding half as good as a duck and in my opinion they dont look as good either. So if you want something to catch peoples eyes (I know my bike gets tons more attention than my friends cookie cutter CBR) and you want something built for the canyons this is the better choice.

| | that is really an apples and oranges comparison. Since Ducati's have twin cylinder engines versus that of the Japanese four cylinder, displacement sizes are misleading. An R6/600RR compare more to a 750cc twin. In fact the SuperSport racing class pits 750cc twins v. 600cc fours. A 620cc twin is more like a 500/550cc four. Therefore the 620's performance is significantly less than that of the 100+ horsepower 600s. |

| Duc 620 comes in last if you compare to real sportbikes like the R6 and CBR.

| | These guys are right, completely different bikes that can't be compared in this way. Yes the Jap bikes are far quicker at the top end, but the torque and the sound of the Duc is better. Unless you plan to race your bike you will probably find the Duc to be the nicer bike. It definitely has the bling factor that the Jap bikes are missing. How many CBR's do you see in any given day???? Now what do you think happens when someone hears the trademark Ducati motor....everyone looks at your bike. Don't get caught up in the HP game, the Duc has a lot of other nice features (ie Brembo brakes etc) |

| Hi. The R6 has more power than the CBR600RR, plus the performance while handling turns, the R6 handles better. The 620 definitly has more power in tourque than the CBR600RR and R6.
