| I am 47yo 5'10 and have'nt riden a big bike for about 15 years, would the VTX1800 be too "heavy" to relearn on or should I maybe start with the Sabre 1100.
Just love those Honda Criusers. |

| The VTX 1800 is a very heavy bike and a bit top heavy. That is why I opted for the VTX 1300 Retro. It has alot more chrome than the 1800 and is retail priced for $8,999. The bike is very well balanced and has a lower center of gravity than the 1800. This is alot of bike for the money. It also sounds alot better than the 1800.

| i bought a vtx 1800 retro 2 months ago, and this is my 1st ever motorcycle.I love it, i wanted a large bike because i am 6'2'' and 250 lbs. It is a bit top heavy but that is my only complaint.

| I am 5'9" and 54. I bought a VTX last year having not ridden in 15 years. The only thing I have learned is pay attention at low speed. My wife and I both love the bike.

| Go with the Sabre 1100. Unless you have some good reasons why you really want an 1800, then go with the Sabre. Suppose you get the 1800 and discover it IS too heavy. Then what?
Anybody who steers you to the 1800 just because THEY like them is an idiot (in my humble opinion, of course)!
I've heard of guys who bought 1800s, discovered they were indeed too heavy and powerful for them, sold the 1800 and bought a 1300. And were much happier. |
