| What is the rear wheel horse power of the 2006 VRSCSE2 stock, right from the factory and what should it be with the addition of thunderheader exhausts and the race tuner kit and air cleaner.

| | Stock Hp claims are directly proportional to how much you paid over sticker. If you were told 160 hp then I would say, oh man they saw you coming. |

| As to RWHP my stock VMAX pulls 119 RWHP and the 2 Screaming Eagle Rods I raced from a 20mph roll on to 120mph were soundly beaten. My $10,000 Max VS. the $27,000 Rod! Beautiful bike though.

| RWHP for a stock VROD SE should be around 10% higher than a regular VROD, Most dyno between 110HP and 115HP.
V-Max's are cool and a good performance bargain. But there is no comparison with a v-rod. First of all, your going to pay more no matter what because the Rod is a HD. So get over the price difference. The V-Rod SE's are stunning in person. Everything is custom. Everything is chrome or billet except the frame, airbox cover, and fenders. That is what you are paying for. They handle very well also with a perimeter frame and of course now have the 240 rear tire.
V-max vs Vrod? A good rider could win on either. 4 or 5 rwhp isn't going to make the difference. If you really want to compare, you can by a nice 1-2 year old Hyabusa, or ZX14 for the same as your VMAX and go 9 second quarter mile times instantly with 170+HP. But you don't buy a VROD SE for speed bragging rights. You buy it for the instant classic style and respect from the general public that you'll never get with a VMAX. |
