I'm looking to buy a new motorcycle soon, I would like feedback from owners on Triumph America and Speedmaster models. How are they overall and how is performance on longer trips.

Thank You

I'm at 7800 miles on my 2002 model. No problems so far. No oil leaks, no odd sounds. I've run her in 105 degree heat and 25 degree cold without any trouble. Keep the chain clean, and I'm sure you won't have any trouble, either. The longest trip I've gone on is 800 miles in two days. It was very comfortable. She's a very comfortable cruiser that handles very well on mountain roads. She's no crotch rocket, but I've brought her up to 100 mph on the flats, which is all you need for most passing conditions. I did replace the mufflers with Triumph silencers, plus new jetting for the carburator and removal of the air injection system. This improved the HP by 20%. Definitly worth the effort.

Take a test ride; I'm sure you won't regret it.

I am very happy with my 2002 America.
I found it very comfortable on by run from Toronto to Bar Harbour this summer.
My travel companions had 1000cc Ducati and BMW.

buy the america. It's cheaper and has much more options for crusing. The speedmaster's short control cables limit almost anything you want to do with it. However, if you love sport bike controls, the speedmaster is just fine.
