I have a 2001 750 NH with 11k miles and it's time to replace the tires. I tend to do commuting and sport touring type riding with an occaisional peg grinding session. The stock Dunlop K505 tires have worked OK, but I was wondering if anyone had other reccommendations for a replacement tire. Thanks for any input.

I have heard good things about two:
Dunlop 591, & Michelin Macadam 90s.

Metzeler makes a great sport/touring tire that I've had good experiences on bikes with the power and weight characteristics of the Nighthawk.

I have replaced my Nighthawk tires at about 16000 with Michelin Macadam 90. They handle well, and are not at all noisy. The previous owner had Metzelers on this bike, which were more money and no better handling. Overkill for this type of bike, as you are not going to be riding on the edge of the enevelope for this bike otherwise get a hotter bike. You will find Michelins a good tire for the type of riding you are doing. I ride mostly country roads, with the occasional freeway. They corner extremely well, turn in quickly, and are good in the wet. I would buy them again.

I replaced my original rear tire with a Kenda at about 8,800 miles. It was a LOT cheaper than the Dunlop, and it looks like I will get considerably more miles out of the Kenda too, as I have over 10,000 miles on one. I found the best price at parts411

I searched & searched for a replacement front tire, but with no success. I replaced it with an original Dunlop.
