| I bought a 2002 883 Harley sporster last summer. It is a hugger. I took a safety and riding course and decided to get me a Honda 250 to learn on. I love this little bike and feel very comfortable on it...I got on my Harley last Sunday and just rode it down the street and had a friend turn in around for me. I am tall enough for my feet to touch the ground flat, but feel it is top heavy after riding the Honda. Should I stay on the Honda through the spring of next year and then try the Harley again or sell it now??? I just don't know if I will ever be comfortable on it turning cornors and trying to hold it up when I stop. I am ll5 pounds and 5'6 feet tall. I do construction work so I am in shape. Wanting to hear from other's maybe my size if they ride a sporster and are comfortable with it. I know I am already out growing my Honda Rebel....or what other bikes might be good for me instead of the Harley but bigger than the Honda 250. Thanks...Carmen.......

| | Check around and ask the dealers. The sportster is a little top heavy. There are several midsized bikes out there other than Harley with a lower center of gravity that you will feel more comfortable turning around. Check in the 500 to 900 cc range. Life's too short to be riding and not enjoy it to it's fullest |

| | I had the same experience regarding the top heavy feel of the Sportster. I'm 155 lbs. at 5'10. I sat on the bike at the showroom and felt the bike was extremely heavy and awkward. It's funny, the dealer said all the weight was at the bottom and well balanced. |

| Well, you certainly had a good idea picking the 250 to learn on. The 883 is going to feel much heavier at first, but you will get used to it in pretty short order.
Ride Safe (especially at first)!
