I have heard a lot about the whining noise coming from the Victory engines. I heard that the factory fixed the problem. Does anybody know for sure if this was fixed?

I don't know about the victory, but I have a Yamaha Venture that is infamous for a "straight gear whine" as opposed to helical cut gears. My bike isn't as affected as some by the whine, maybe Victorys are the same, individually affected, or not, by the whine. I know with the Yamahas the only effect is noise, no mechanical defects accompany the whine. Some Yammies can have the whine reduced by replacement of the clutch basket, under warrantee in many cases.

The engine is very LOUD, and no they have not fixed this. Sounds like lifter/mechanical noise, not normal amounts IMHO...

I have a 2006 Kingpin - and have been unable to get any help from my dealer, outside of a stupid look and "thats just how they are" response. I really love the bike but dealing with Victory ie Polaris is driving me back to Harley

The 'whine' is coming from the Polaris owners who are trying to unload these thangs without taking too much of a beating on the re-sale.

My new Kingpin doesn't whine...shifts a bit hard into first, but doesn't whine, no matter what the speed. it sounds good, fast or slow, and has just the right vibration to let you know you're sitting on a true 100 inch motor.
