| I've got a brand new legend TT ,it has been sitting in the show room of the last three years. I noticed that my pipes blued after only about 300km, is this normal? Any recomendations on a wind screen? I've tried a couple of after market and the buffeting was so bad I could barly stand it!! I want a set of bags , any reccommendations? I also want a back rest any ideas ? Am I best to stick with triumph parts? They're very expensive compared to others.
Thanks
Terry

| Normal. Do not worry about it or try to get rid of the bluing.
Try a Givi or Triumph Screen.

| Terry,
You can reduce the blueing with an old trick. Let the bike run for about two
minutes to get the pipes hot. Pour a liberal amount of motor oil onto
a thick rag and rub the pipes vigerously while hot (watch your hands)
40% of the blue should go away. Then buy some "blue away" at a
motorcycle dealer and spend 2 hours removing the rest of the blue
from the pipes. Sorry but it is very time consuming. From then on
everytime you wash your bike use the oil trick and the pipes will stay
pretty good for a long time. Also if you find that the pipes continue to
blue quickly have your dealer open the low speed jets to 1.5%
to 2.0% CO which will reduce the blueing and fatten up the low end of the
rpm range. Also if you put aftermarket mufflers on the pipes blue very
quickly.I would recommend the Triumph Cruiser screen for a windshield. The
factory pieces are very nice quality and heavy enough so they don't flex
causing handling problems. Most aftermarket is junk.

| Blueing is normal; the engines are a little lean out of the factory, but don't stress over the blueing. It shouldn't extend more than a few inches from the header. You need to join one of our online clubs - a wealth of information. Unfortunately aftermarket parts are scarce. I have the triumph backrest (sissy-bar) and it's somewhat costly but well worth it

| The Triumph windscreen is excellent. I drive through a windy canyon every morning and the windscreen gives very little buffeting. Also, very excellent quality. Also the Triumph back rest looks excellent on the bike and is very functional. Try the saddle bags too, looks great and gives the bike that cruiser stle appearance. Be safe and enjoy the ride.
