I own a 2002 KDX 200 and my friend owns a 1985 KDX 200. We are considering going to MX track. We were wondering if the bike could handle the hard landings of MX style jumps. We are esspecially concerned about his !985 because it is older. IT runs handles great just like mine. Thanks

I also own a '02 KDX200 and have taken multiple trips to the track. You are not going to be able to clear supercross style technical stuff with it's lack of power but I mostly ride it on a natural MX style track. It's a blast. I have no suspension work done on my KDX, only dialed in for my weight (175lb) and riding style (fast). As long as you can make it to the landings over jumps, you'll be ok. Come and short and you'll feel it. THe older KDX is nearly the same as a new one but I'd watch out for stress fractures in the frame if you ride often at the track. Keep in mind, you won't be able to keep up with most race bikes on a MX track, although I have been able to give a few 125cc riders a run for their money.
