| My two daughters (14 and 11) love to ride on the back but the wife refuses. The older one is about 100 pounds and can sit on it for up to two hours before needing a break. The younger one has never asked for a break. Incidently, after two hours solo I too usually need a break. Regardless it is a fantastic motorcycle for seeing remote places and getting back in one piece, as well as riding day to day to and from work.

| If it's the Adventure version with the single, tapering, bench seat, then yes on long rides of 2+ hours it's very uncomfortable for the lighter pillion. If the pillion is over 9 stone then after 1 hour it's time for a rest. This is a pity as the fuel tank has many more hours left in it (yet even after 3 hours even the rider is in need of a rest stop). The problem on the Adv is that the seat thins towards the rear of the bench and there's very little padding at this section. The std GS and the new GS Adventure (I have one) have the dual seats and are much better. My recommendation is to go to a BMW after-market seat specialist and get your current seat renovated into a more practical 2-up unit.
