| | Purchased a GS1200 a few weeks ago and put over 5000 miles on it in under two weeks (recommended checkups completed). I have the dunlop trailmax tires on it and was very dissapointed with the front end traction (or lack thereof) on anything other than pavement. I have been reading about the tourances and the anakee...any opinions on which is better for a 75% street- 25% off the beaten path tire? Cheers. |

| | I have owned GS's since they first started making them. I have never ridden any tire to compare with a Metzler Tourance on a GS; any GS. Get a set, and you'll never ever ride anything else again. After 25,000 miles of riding all over Baja California, any having tried most every tire out there, I can tell you this from first hand experience. I too am a 75% street and 25% dirt rider. |

| | I second the first answer. I got my 12GS last year with Brigstone Trailwings and they lasted 6000 miles but where not very nice on dirt roads. I have now done another 6000 miles on Tourance's and they transform the bike into something I can ride for ever. They are also only half trough there life so I just enjoy there safe grip and just ride on. I will never buy any other tires then Metzler Tourance for my GS. |
