I own a 2004 Vulcan 2000. After riding for 30 minutes or so I get high pitched chirping sound from the rear of the bike, most noticeable under partial throttle. I would like to hear from other owners if they have similar experience and what the fix was, so I can talk to my dealer about repair. Otherwise, I absolutely love this monster bike.

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing here but I'm getting a similar noise, but on my vn2000 the high pitched whistling/chirping noise, sounds like its coming from the engine area and at speeds of between 110 - 125 kph only, with the same throttle positioning. I have my dealer looking at it right now (2nd time) will keep you updated if thay fix it. FYI I spoke to another VN2000 owner this weekend and he said he has the same thing on his bike.

I believe it is due to contact with the flange. I have it too at 50-55 mph.

i road about sixty miles and i think after mine got good and hot that the front wheel
bearings are going out. it even seemed to change the sound when i served left and right. 2004 with 2300 miles still under warranty. try to ride a good distance and see if it's the same.
going to ride to sturgis and hope the wheel doesn't fall off.

after further review i'm convinced the rear
wheel bearing is going out. it sounds like
it's engine but a passenger can detect it coming from the back. going in for warranty work monday. hope they find it.

had the pulley fixed after factory recall. it helped nothing. must need rear wheel bearings replaced. 2300 miles. sounds horrible. embarassing. need to wear a paper bag on my head to ride it. should just get a vtx. summer will be gone soon. the stupid bike lives in the shop more than at my house.
