Does anyone know the life span of the
750's motor under normal riding,I've
been told I would be lucky to get 35
thousand out of it.

My first bike was a 93' nighthawk 750. I drove that bike hard ALL of the time then finally sold it when it had about 28 thousand miles(wanted more power). It still ran perfect when i sold it!! and with those hydraulic lifters i never needed any valve job every 15K miles unlike just about every other bike out there. kinda miss that low maintenance bike everytime im working on my new sportbike.

I bought mine used with 16,000 miles and it now has over 76,000 miles; still runs well. Has been run hard. It is a great bike.

Could it be that the one who missinformed you was a salesman for some other bike company? The nighthawk motor is bullet proof! Lots of nighthawks with well over 100,000 miles out there & still no sign of age. The cb750 mill is still around for a good reson...... IT WORKS!!

I've personally seen Nighthawks with well over 65,000 miles and have heard of them going A LOT farther.

No way! This motorcycle is typical of Honda's very high quality products. It's also one of the more simple models. Just a very little regular maintenance is all it needs. It should last several 10's of thousands of miles beyond that. I bet that you could do nothing but top it off with oil, (not recommended) and it would last so long that you would sell it, before it broke.

No friggin way. This motor dates back to the original 750-4 in 1969, and has more development than anyone dare ask for. They last 50-100M miles if you change the oil regularly.

I'm real lucky, then. I bought mine with about 60k on it. It runs great, doesn't leak or use oil, has great power. And I ride it alot.
