| So you would recommend this bike to a first time rider? I just got my endorsement and I am looking for some that will "draw" attention.

| Yes, I would. We just picked up a 620 Dark on Thurs. (7/9/2005) for my wife. She is 5' 6", 120 lbs and a first time rider. She went through the MSF course a month ago, which was here first ever experience with being in control of any motorcycle. She can easily flat foot and "woman" handle this bike. She was a little nervous at first but after a few miles on our local streets and then later at a mall parking lot around the corner from us. The forgiving steering of this bike made her feel at home. She also has mild tendanitis. The little MSF trainer bike gave her a hard time and left her in pain but this bike, with its hydralic clutch and excellent brakes, left her wanting to ride more with NO PAIN afterwards!!!!! She also loves the sitting position and finds the seat to be extremely comfortable.
I also took it out for a ride. My normal ride is a '05 Suzuki GSXR-1000. Although the little 620 can't compare to the power output of the Gixxer, I thought the monster to be a fun and very forgiving bike. The V-Twin provides plenty of forgiving torque for a new rider. In other words, it won't over power you unless you get real crazy with the throttle. I felt the brakes were perfect (can't go wrong with those stock Brembo brakes and steel braided cables though) and had great feel.
The only thing thing you will want to touble check is the rear suspension. The stock rebound setting is as soft as it can get. It only takes a minute with a screw driver to take care of that. We ended up setting her up at 12 clicks on the adjustment screw and it tightened up the rear quite nicely.
Get it, you can't go wrong!!!! Worth every penny Ducati is asking, especially when you compare it to the likes of an SV650. Most bang for your buck, even with a premier name stuck to the side of the gas tank!
