As you have probably found out, prices for new Harley's can be all over the place. You just have to shop around. I went to 3 different dealers everyone would sell at MSRP + $400-$650 setup + freight if you were willing to wait. Wait times ranged from 3 months to 9 months. Bikes on the showroom floor were marked up quite a bit more. I got a brand new black 2003 Anniversary FXD for $12,990 (This included Freight and Dealer Setup) with a 3 month wait. As far as the Yamaha V-Star, great looking bike, quite a bit cheaper, but you get what you pay for. You won't regret paying the extra dough for the Harley once you ride one and compare.
