If I add a Vance & Hines slip-on to my 2000 Cyclone M2, do I necessarily have to change the intake? i.e. Does it only make the bike louder or does it in fact reduce back pressure resulting in the need for larger jets and a K&N or Forcewinder filter? What size jets work best?/what kit???

Thanks!

A high-flow air cleaner is beneficial. The stock system is more restrictive than the V&H pipe. But not necessary.Even with a new pipe the carb needs a .45 slow jet. I reccomend a Dynojet kit. thunderslide kits arent needed but a dynojet kit offers a few benefits. most importantly a weaker vacuum diaphragm spring for quicker throttle response. A .45 slow jet and a 2.00 main jet work well. At that point the air screw needs only to be set 2-2.5 turns out from lightly seated. (depending on elevation). It does make it louder but also less backpressure.

I meant to say the Air cleaner isnt necessary, woops. although its a bonus. If nothing else I would at least get a K&N element to put in the stock air box though.
