| It is a 4 stroke. Honda distinguished itself by making 4-stroke motorcycle engines with overhead cams when the others were just using 2-strokes. (two stroke engines don't use cams!)
The first Honda 2 Strokes that I heard about were the Elsinore MX bikes. I don't think Honda ever sent a 2 stroke street motorcycle to the USA. The very first bike Honda sent over had only a 50cc engine, but was a 4-stroke.
The rebel has only a two cylinder engine. Were you asking about that?

| | This engine, like most regular motorcycles is a four stroke engine. Two strokes for any newer bike is almost restricted to off road and combination bikes. |

| FOR THE RECORD - Rebels are two cyl. / 4 strokes. In general, if it has a dipstick (meaning you don't have to mix oil with the gas), chances are it's a four stroke.
