I bought a new 2005 Buell lightning CityX last weekend. I rode it a little when i first got it home. It was kind of cold out like 32degrees the next day when i went to start it, it would turn over but not start. It has warmed up some now and it still will turn over but not start. I only put like 5 miles on it and that was just crusing around town. Anyone heard of the same problem or have any sugestions, i am sure it will have to go back to the dealer and be looked at. I guess i thought when you buy somehthing brand new it should start. Needless to say i am not too pleased at this point with my buell, hopefully i can find some answeres...

Go to this site with your question:

If these guys can't help you, no one can! This is a site with lot of Buell owners. Very good info here.

Hey, i was wondering if you figured out what the problem was, and how you like the bike now (assuming you got it repaired and are now riding it). I am looking at buying this model, and any suggestions you have would be welcome, thanks... dflanders@hotmail.com

Have you tried flipping the Engine Cut-Off switch to the RUN/ON position? You know...the red thingy you operate with the right thumb?

I actually had the same thing occur on mine. It turned out to be a fouled spark plug. This was a result of the bike being started but not driven. Check and clean/replace the spark plugs if need be, then, in the future make sure you completely avoid the throttle when starting the bike. Just turn the key, flip the red engine switch to on, wait for the fuel pump to stop, then wait for the engine light to go off and then press the yellow button.
