| Help… After owning a F650 for over 8 years I finally decided to step up to the R1200CL and glad I did. WOW what a great ride.
As I have no real BMW shop here in the area, I need some help in finding 1st a service manual so I can do my own work. and 2nd the biggest problem is getting the Tank off to hook up a battery tender. Wher dose one find this type of info as a beginner with the R1200CL.
If anyone is willing to give me a few hints…please contact me at WD.emi@earthlink.net.
Thanks from Wolf-Dreamer…

| | Hi! Can't offer any help with the service manual question except to check out eBay Motors, they have a whole section on service manuals, you might find one there. Your bike should have two electrical outlets on the left side below the seat. If you have the newer style battery tender with the interchangeable wire connectors, you can buy an adapter for the battery tender so that it just plugs into the electrical outlets, no need to pull the tank, plus, I think the battery is actually under the seat area is it not? Moot point ... just plug the tender into the outlet. If you can't find a place to buy the adapter, try powerlet, they have them. |

| you don't need to take the tank off it just takes a special ordered part though BMW and the Battery tender hooks right up though the 2 conections on the accery area.
hope this helps I have a 2003 BMW R1200cl
love the bike it only has 600 kms and loving the bike more and more every ride
