| | Ok, so I have to commend you for atleast coming to this website to try and find out information about motorcycles before you go out and try to ride one. With that said, Im going to have to lay it on the line b/c I keep seeing people ask whether or not a 1000cc bike is a good first bike. Not to mention age, height, and weight of the people asking these questions. So take this for what its worth, but remember, I going to lay it out plain and simple, its going to be harsh, but atleast I cared enough to spend time writing this thread. Lets look at this in simple plain terms. 1. Depending on your location, the bikes msrp is 10999. I dont care how many newspapers you deliver, its going to take 20 years to save up enough money to buy this bike. 2. Without any fuel in the bike, it has 233 pounds on you. 3. This bike probably has more horse power at the crank (180) and rear wheel (163-165) than your parents car does. 4. You probably cant even get a learners permit yet. 5. Full coverage insurance would cost you about 8000 a year. 6. Your barely going to be able to touch the ground. 7. This bike has so much power that its going to be riding you, not you riding it. I could keep going, but Im not. If you have gone this far in reading, then I can tell you really are interested in getting a bike. Go take the MSF course, get a honda rebel or suzuki gz 250. Ride that for a year or two and then get a sv650, ex 500, or other similar small bike. Then, by the time you are 18, you'll have enough experience to get a 600cc bike. |

| | I have a buddy I train that is 5'4", 147 lbs. This is his first bike and just got his lic. the same time my wife got her, in Nov. of '04. It's all about how you are going to act on the bike. Ride like a fool and crazy, then your asking for trouble. The ZX-6 is not far from the 10 when it come to size, for the money me and my buddy wnet for the 10. I have the '04 & he has the '05. At 5'8" you have the heigt to hold the bike. |

| PLAIN AND SIMPKE....ZX10R WOULD BE ONE OF THE LAST BIKES IN TH WORLD FOR YOU. ASIDE FROM THE FACT YOU CAN'T LEGALLY DRIVE IT, YOU JUST PHYSICALLY WOU;DN;T BE ABLE TO. TRY A DIRTBIKE OR IF YOU KNOW HOW TO RIDE, TRY A NINJA 250 AS A FIRST BIKE WHEN YOU ARE OLD ENOUGH TO BUY ONE AND THEY ONLCY COSR 2-3K, SO YOU COULD SAVE UP ENOUGH.

| If you really are 14, you don't really even have achoice on how big of a bike you want to ride. The largest bike that the law allows for people under the age of 16 is a 250. And no even if you could ride something bigger i would strongly recommend that you not.
