| how do you get the battery out to change
it. this is my first bike and i do not know much about them yet.

| | Chris-The battery is under the seat. Remove the little bolt at the back of the seat,pull up and back. You might want help keeping the bike in place as it may not want to come off easy. When you're done with the battery change,before you replace the seat,remove that little crossbar on the rear fender. It's what holds the seat so dang firmly in place. The tongue on the front of the seat that slides under the tank,and the little bolt on the rear fender are more than adequate to hold the seat on. And it'll be easier to get the seat off next time. |

| Hope you've found the answer by now, but just in case, remove seat and pull battery--easy fix

| Battery is under the seat. Just replaced my first battery. I have a 2000 800 sportster Vulcon. Take the seat off by removing small screw behing it, and lify a bit and bump backwards towards rear of cycle. Battery is under there. Very easy to replace.
