| What kind of gas is everyone using? I only use premium because I want the best for my baby. Am I wasting my money?

| I'd say yes. My 599 is sleeping over the winter now, but last summer I used both 87 and 91 octane. The 87 octane gas got as good, if not better, gas mileage. If performance was different, I cound not tell.

| its definitly attractive to pay the higher price for the "premium" gasoline.. but in all reality.. your just paying for the extra octaine.. the book says to go with mid grade.. 86 ptc octaine raiting.. i've read around that going higher doesn't really do anything.. since the compression ratio on the bike is what dictates how much octain is actually "optimized". If i were you i'd save the 10 cents per gallon and get back under $10 fill ups.. i'm at 2.89 for premium here... ack.

| I used to use the low end 87 octane until a week ago where I went to 91 octane...I noticed a very nice difference in performance. A much better ride now with the higher octane. I can do 0-60 MPH in 3 seconds with my 919...Simply go backwards and try out the 87 octane, I think you will then stay with the higher octane!

| You're wasting money. Premium gas in a motor that's not designed for it doesn't actually produce any extra power. You'll be better off saving the few cents for fill-ups, and spending it on accessories for the bike. |
