I have no riding experience. Would you recommend this bike for a first bike?

You didn't say how tall you are? I'm 6'3" and have a 82' 650 Nighthawk. It fits me fine. I've been on a couple of 200 mile days and the only thing I'd add is maybe some forward highway bars to rest my legs. Onerall a great bike, low to no maintience. All you need.

Nhawk 750 is very user friendly made bike. It is very good first bike also. For the first couple of weeks you can try not to spin it more than 4000 RPM. You will have power enough to ride do not worry. Also you have to learn how to break well more than anything. Use always both breaks front brake stronger than rear one. Rear wheel goes easily to skid when breaking hard you have to be gentle. Skilful riding is incredible but skilful breaking saved my life lot of times.

I've had mine for three years and it is my first bike. I am very happy with, no problems!

In my opinion, the Nighthawk 750 is the ideal first bike. I learned to right on a Nighthawk 250 at a Mototcycle Safety Foundation course, and it was just about perfect, with no bad habits that I discovered in a weekend riding it around. The 750 will have more power and keep you happy longer than a 250 cc motorcycle.

Just be very conservative when you first start and you'll be ok. Stay off the interstates, don't ride in bad weather, don't ride at night, don't ride during rush hour...Get some confidence riding over back roads you know, and most importantly, think and look ahead of the bike.

If you haven't taken the Safety Foundation Course...you really should. It's the single best thing a new rider can do.

Enjoy!

A Honda 750 was the bike I learned to ride on. It is nimble, forgiving, economical, comfortable, maintenance-free (practically), and has enough power to keep you interested for a long time. I'm on my second now. My first was a 1981 CB750 Custom. My present ride is a 2000 750 Nighthawk. (Same bike; Nighthawk took over for the CB line.) When I first got the new one I was surprised when I looked down and didn't see my old tank. Other than an oil cooler and some cosmetics, it's pretty much the same bike.

Yes, perfect! Not so much power that you would get in to (too much) trouble, but plenty to keep you interested. Remember, this is still a 750 cc full sized motorcycle, and can blow away the majority of cars on the road. No body work to mess with. Not a high strung peaky motor, but tourquey, and reliable. Just a great get-on-every-day-and-ride bike. Easy to customize with it's regular (replaceable) tube handle-bar, and clean front end. You can put on a fairing, luggage, magnetic tank bag, you name it!

I HAVE BEEN RIDING SINCE 1963, I HAVE PICKED THE NIGHTHAWK 750 AS MY " LAST" BIKE . IT HAS EVERYTHING I NEED. IT HANDLES WELL, AS THE SAY " IT GOES IT TURNS AND IT STOPS " IT IS EASY MAINT. GREAT MPG ( I GET 45MPG AT 80MPH ) I HAVE DONE 400 MILE DAYS AND WISHED THEY WERE LONGER. I AM GOING TO MONTANA FROM WAUKESHA, WI.IN JULY. I DO NOT FORSEE ANY PROBLEM. I'VE HAD A LOT OF BIKES SINCE 63, HD, HONDA, SUZUKI, BSA , ETC. THIS HAS ( TO ME) ALL THE THINGS I NEED.
WHAT EVER YOU GET, GET WHAT YOU LIKE, NOT WHAT IS JUST " IN " GOOD LUCK.

Mega dittos to above answer. This is my
"last bike" too. My 2nd Nighthawk 750.
Went to liter bike land and ended up
saying "Why?". Sold it and bought another Nighthawk 750. Sweet ride, does
everything well, low maintanence. I
think I'll marry her.
