| Has anyone installed hotter plugs, such as double-platinum SplitFires, in their Nighthawk? I'm a new rider (about a year), and I'm yearning to get some quicker acceleration out of my bike, especially froma a standing start. But my owner's manual warns against such upgrades, citing potential engine damage. Is this true? Is it because the NH is air-cooled? I've got a friend who has upgraded his bike with these plugs, but he rides a 600-cc liquid-cooled sportbike. Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

| Your valves are vulnerable to the increased heat and pressure which is how these plugs give high performance. I wouldn't use them.

| Increased temp and pressure? What a load! A spark is a spark. The platinums deliver a more consistent spark and last a lot longer than regular plugs. Use 'em and be happy.
