| Hey man. I totally recomend the saddle bags. I think the GIVI bags may be like 5 L bigger, but they look like total crap on a VFR. The Honda bags are contoured very nice to the seat and exhaust.
I have taken my laptop in my bags a few times. I wrap it in a tshirt so that it doesn't get banged up. You probably won't be able to fit a carrying case in the bags. I have an 04, so the bags are the same as for the 02.

| | I have a 15" Ti PowerBook G4 & I carry it inside my SJM Laptop BackPack which fits snuggly, but easily inside the OEM Honda panniers on my 04VFR. There is room in there for all my laptop accessories plus more! |

| | I've got the honda hardshell bags and they're fine for carrying a laptop. You need to get a short laptop case - no more than 15" - if you want to fit it in the bags. I found a Briggs & Riley that fits just fine. I've found I can store my jacket, pants, boots and accessories allowing me to walk away with a helmetbag and laptop. Don't expect too much of the interior divider straps and cover-retainer straps. They are for S***. I've ended up epoxying and duct taping all of the sewn and woven connections after a little more than a year. Also..the Honda bags are about 4" wider than your mirrors so watch the lane-splitting. |
