| | I just purchased a 2004 vulcan 800 classic and I would like to make it louder without changing pipes for now. Can you help with a solution |

| I just did this very same thing this past weekend. The outcome will depend on how well you preform the job but without changing the pipes, you can cut out the baffles.
Basically all you need to do is remove the rivits at the ends of both pipes with a drill. Once done, you'll see that the ends have been welded on.
Simply drill out afew holes then with a drimell or other tool, take out the rest. The Baffell (center tube) will simply come out after you have made the last cut around the end of the pipe.
Polish the cut and there you go. After starting the bike with just one of the two pipes altered, you will tell a BIG difference! Cut out the second pipe the same way and your done.
Total job took maybe 45 mins then another 30 for polishing. You may want to Jet it out in the future but for now, you will have a completly new sound to the same bike you ride.
The end result will be nice. Since you cut out the inside portion of the pipes, they look totally unaltered from first glance. The more time you take, the more professional it will look.
Just make sure to take your time and do use a drimmel for touch-ups.

| Get some Cobra pipes. I have a 2000 Vulcon which sound just like a HD, but a whole lot more guts.
